Linux for Writers
Microsoft Vista came out this year so you can pay a couple of hundred pounds and upgrade to make your computer shiny. Apple have a big campaign to convince you to spend even more money and buy their computer instead. Personally I am tired of spending all this money but I don't really want to be using pirate software either. Fortunately there is another way.
Ubuntu is a type of Linux. You may have heard of Linux. It's an operating system like Windows or Mac OSX. Except that it's free. It has also been designed to be easy to use and come with all the common features available from the moment it has been installed. This article is a brief look at the advantages of Ubuntu from a writer's point of view.
You can also read about my experiences switching on my blog. At some point I'll maybe even start writing some kind of help but, honestly, there is already a lot of it out there.
